"Me Atre Boltoy" is a grand elocution competition named after the famous Marathi speaker Acharya P. K. Atre. This competition gave students a platform to express their opinions freely and showcase their depth of knowledge. The content, voice delivery and modulation, body language and audience connect are some factors building the best 'Vakta'.
In hard times like now, in context to the ongoing pandemic, we thought Covid 19 shouldn't be a hurdle to spread knowledge and do good deeds through virtual platforms As Good education is a foundation for a better future so we came up with an initiative Utkarsh- Igniting Minds, Online. Volunteers will teach them various attributes apart from their normal curriculum like Personality development, Science experiments, Career paths, Untold Indian History and freedom fighters and many more things with an attempt to create unlimited possibilities for their bright future.
With the thought of spreading awareness of blood donation and providing blood to blood banks, the concept of blood donation camp came into picture. This event is not only about a one-day camp but different tasks like aesthetics, rally, street play, check-ups, refreshments and a lot more. ‘Blood-D’, which was an initiative for blood donation by college students, now is augmented with the participation of other people outside the college as well. The 2019 event was a chartbuster with 535 pints of blood donated to AFMC and Sasoon hospitals.
Aatmabodh is the initiative taken by SW&D for the betterment of society. It is a flagship event of our college. Among the kingpins are the elderly and homemakers. Senior citizens and homemakers learn basic skills from students at our college. Pandemics could not dampen the enthusiasm of students. The committee members made last year's event a huge success by conducting it online with a high level of dedication and willingness to do whatever it takes.
This year the club organised a 6-day event Rejuvenating Rashtra 2.0 which we believe invigorated a new spark among each one of us to do more and work for the welfare of the society. We had various speakers conduct the session on few of the crucial issues that need attention at this hour. Hearing about their journey and work invoked a passion among the attendees and boosted their enthusiasm about social work.
